Mad props to Living Out Loud with Darian for pointing us to a recent episode of Ice Cube’s “Are We There Yet?” on TBS. In the episode “The Boy Has Style,” the sitcom introduces us to Cedric, a high school football player. The daughter on the show has a crush on him but the parents, especially the mother, are pretty sure that he is gay. Some great lines.. and it’s actually kind of funny.
Nick (Dad): You cannot be that tall and gay?
Suzanne (Mom): I’ll call Rupaul and let him know!
Dad: Maybe you should give him a test. See if he likes E. Lynn Harris or Cher.
Mom: What do you know about E. Lynn Harris?
Dad: Nothing
Later on….
After the Dad asks Cedric if he is gay… he comes out, then says…
Cedric: Do you have a problem with it?
Dad: With you being gay? No. But I do have a problem. Have you told Lindsey? (his daughter)

I was just thinking… imagine if this was the 80′s and this storyline was on The Cosby Show! Can you imagine Vanessa having a crush on a high school football player, who was actually gay and in love with Theo. LOL! We’ve come a long way!
