Taking nothing away from Lady Gaga and her version of the gay adopted song, “Born This Way,”  did you know there was another song with a similar title?  Back in 1997, the glory days of disco, Motown chief Berry Gordy decided that he wanted “the children,”  to be dancing to a tune from his label.  Gospel vocalist Carl Bean was recruited to sing “I Was Born This Way,” a catchy, feel good, dance tune, backed up by none other than MFSB, aka, The Sound of Philadelphia.  (If you don’t know, you better ask somebody!)

In this NoMoreDownLow on camera exclusive,  Archbishop Carl Bean revels the details of the making of this classic and why he was taking by surprised when it became the official anthem of the Gay Liberation Movement.
