Google debuted a new commercial last night during GLEE and I was completely shocked that the company had the COURAGE to spend a ton of cash to showcase the It Gets Better campaign in this primetime slot. And the ad may bring a tear to your eyes.
The Google ad is meant to show how powerful one person can be using the Internet (and the Google Chrome browser) — “Beginning with one inspiring video, Dan Savage used the web to create the It Gets Better project–a movement that has generated thousands of uplifting videos that give hope to teens.”
The ad features an openly gay older black man, gay families, gay cops, Kathy Griffin, Adam Lambert, Anne Hathaway, Lady Gaga, the Seattle Quake (gay rugby team), Chaz Bono and Woody from Toy Story! Watch the Google Chrome ad and then watch the full video of the gay elders offering their advice.
