Can you “Pray the Gay Away?”  Well, Lisa Ling investigates one of the most controversial debates in Christianity today: whether or not it’s possible to be gay and Christian at the same time.  The episode airs Tuesday night on her “Our America” show broadcast on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) at 10/9c.

Naming Project Summer Camp

One of the previews focuses on Exodus – the group that claims they can cure homosexuality. While another preview focuses on an organization called The Naming Project that actually teaches kids that God loves them no matter what.  I’d rather focus on that preview!

From the organization’s website: The goal of The Naming Project is to provide a safe and sacred space where youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities are named and claimed by a loving God; can explore and share faith; experience healthy and life-giving community; reach out to others; and advocate for systemic change in church and society.

Bren Ranney says:

This is a social awaking which really can be reduced to Acceptance. Expecting yourself or anyone else to suppress one’s feelings because of fear or hate is not how I choose to live. I have a real issue when people are telling others how they should live according to they’re own limited perceptions. How would you like me to tell you how I think you should be living?
