We love that the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) is featuring LGBT films. More importantly, it’s great to see a black lesbian love story as an official selection. On Saturday, you must go out and support this lesbian love story called “Love…Another 4 Letter Word.”
Here’s the low down on the other L word movie… Tai has just broken up with her long-time girlfriend. She misses the comforts of steady companionship and struggles with her life choice of partners and her own identity. She’s committed to finding a new soulmate and launching an online dating site at the same time, possibly making a love connection while doing so.
It will be screening at the film festival on Saturday, Feb 19@10:30pm AND on Tuesday, Feb 22@4:20pm. All screenings take place at the Culver Plaza Theatre, located at 9919 Washington Blvd in Los Angeles.
Directed by Angela Burris, who started out working in accounting. Having worked in one of the largest asset management companies, she decided to pursue her passion: film. With the accounting background, Angela began working for an international distribution company as a controller during the day and learned production and editing from their on-site facilities at night. With the drive and dedication to pursue her passion, Angela worked on several shorts and a music video, during nights and weekends. She absorbed as much knowledge as possible while working on these projects. She then felt she was ready to begin making her own films, including Smokeless, which was selected for a 2008 Pan African Film Festival Shorts Program. Since 2002, she has produced and worked on her own and others’ projects. Angela has a strong dedication to the African-American film experience and wants to make sure each of the projects she is involved in is not just okay, but is excellent.
